About Me
Hello! I’m Jo, a Surface Pattern Designer from Hampshire, U.K. but before that I was a librarian from North London and in between, I used to live in New Zealand, where I completed my degree in illustration. What I learned from that degree, is that I am not a traditional illustrator, hence why I became a librarian!
By chance, a few years ago, I discovered surface pattern design and fell in love! I closed the door on my career as a keeper of knowledge and went back to my roots as a designer. I am truly passionate about pattern and all things colourful and creative! Now I get to share that passion with you!
Here in the design studio you will find a range of quirky and unusual gifts, homeware and textiles, all featuring my original bold and bright illustrations!
They feature on tea towels, aprons, kitchen boards and coasters, beeswax wraps, wash bags and cosmetic bags, notebooks and greeting cards. Every one of my designs starts with a hand drawn sketch, and the process of turning that image into the illustrations and products you see here, is one of the best parts of my job.
It means you get to have a lovely piece of unique, contemporary design in your home which is hand-drawn and made in the UK and I get to have lots of fun making that happen!
I think I’m pretty lucky!
